Love Begins Within

Love written in sand with ocean waves at the beach, evoking romance and tranquility.

We often spend our lives searching for love outside of ourselves in relationships, in approval, in belonging. We measure our worth by whether others notice us, choose us, or validate us. But here is the quiet truth I am coming to understand: love has always been within us.

When we turn inward and rest in that truth, everything changes. Our hearts soften. They open. Love flows freely not because we hope to receive it in return, but simply because it is who we are. And when we give in this way, life responds. Love overflows back into our experience, not as a reward, not as a transaction, but as a reflection of the depth within us.

As a coach, I love to point to awareness in love. Awareness shifts everything. It naturally changes the way we view love, others, and life itself. When we are aware of our patterns, beliefs, and past conditioning, we gain clarity. We begin to see ourselves beneath the noise, the stories, and the old expectations. And in this space of awareness, freedom emerges.

I have seen this deeply for myself. Our view of love is shaped by our early conditioning and the beliefs we carried into adulthood, often unconsciously acting them out in ways that conflict with our relationships. Awareness allows us to notice these patterns, release them, and choose a different response. It becomes easier to let go of old expectations and allow both ourselves and others to simply be.

Love is an internal depth. It is a sacred wellspring that cannot run dry because it is woven into the very essence of who we are.

We were created in love. We are made of love. We are here to give and to receive love starting with ourselves.

And when we return to this inner space, when we reconnect with our own innate love, we remember: love is not something to strive for, not something to earn, and not something another person controls. It is the essence of our being. It is our natural state. It is who we already are.

Gentle Reflections

As you sit with these words, breathe. Allow yourself to rest here for a moment. Let these questions guide your reflection:

  1. Where in your life are you still searching for love outside of yourself?
  2. How does it feel to consider that love already exists within you?
  3. What moments or practices help you reconnect with your inner well of love?
  4. In what ways can you give love freely this week, without expectation of return?
  5. Where are you withholding love and your ability to receive it because of past heartbreak or old patterns?
  6. How might recognising love as your core change the way you relate to others?
  7. What patterns or beliefs about love are you ready to release?

Take your time with these questions. Write. Reflect. Sit quietly. Let the truth of your own love emerge, slowly, gently, naturally.

With love,
